Forage Fine Foods – when you’ve zero time to make shit yourself…

Being a mum and also pregnant and also a teeny bit averse to making actual recipes that involve more than two steps in the instructions, I am always excited ecstatic to discover wild food that I can buy online.

Some foragers think that this defeats the purpose (and pleasure) of foraging but I disagree.  Don’t get me wrong, I do love foraging. You can’t beat the thrill of finding a new plant and being outdoors and the fun derived from making a meal out of food you gathered yourself. However, what’s important to me is that I’m upping my intake of wild food, nourishing my body with plant DNA not found in our modern diets.

Further, when you buy pre-made foraged fayre you’re supporting local businesses and lovely people who are paying their bills doing something they love and are very good at.

Everyone wins!

Moving on.

The lovely Liz at Forage Fine Foods has a fabulous online shop stocking a fine array of wild food delicacies she lovingly makes.  Here’s a sample of what I got.

I used the spiced rosehip syrup on a lovely sea buckthorn and pomegranate salad. Voila.

We have so many ideas for how to use these. Keep an eye on my instagram or twitter for pics!
